• How can I get to my appointment

My personal counselling room is in Bignall End, which is easily accessible from anywhere in the Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Crewe or Nantwich area via either the A500 or A34. Further details including access by bus

  • Where can I park?

You can park either on-street or on our driveway. There are no double yellows or parking meters. Just please be considerate to our neighbours.

  • Is there a waiting room?

Unfortunately we do not have a reception or waiting room, so I do ask that clients be mindful of other clients’ privacy and try to avoid arriving too early as I will be unable to answer the door. (Also, please be aware that I will need to end your session on time, in order to allow a privacy gap before the next client).

  • Is it Okay to bring someone with me?

It is your counselling session, so you may of course bring someone with you. I have clients whose companions choose to come into the session or wait in the car. Unfortunately we do not have a reception or waiting room. Your companion can wait in their car, or there are some nearby café’s and/or pubs in Audley or the surrounding areas.

You will need to be very careful about your choice of companion if you wish for them to actually come and sit in for the duration as obviously some very personal issues may be discussed.

  • Is there a toilet?

Yes there is a toilet. It is our family bathroom but clients and companions are free to use the facilities if they wish.

  • Are there stairs or a lift?

As you can see in this photo, my practice is in a bungalow. The door is a UPVC Double Glazing Door; I have measured the step into the house as approximately 10 inches / 26cm. The width of the door is approximately 2’4″ or 70cm. If you need any further details please get in touch. I’ll do my best to accommodate you.

  • Is the room hot or cold?

I do my best to keep the room at an ambient temperature of approximately 20-22 C, but I do have blankets available if this is too cold for you. Clients’ personal temperatures can vary according to what we are discussing. If ever you are uncomfortable please do say and I will do my best to accommodate you.

  • Are there windows?

Yes there is a window; I tend to keep it closed to help with privacy and soundproofing. But if you would like it opening please do ask. The window has vertical blinds again to ensure client privacy but once again should you wish for these to be opened please do say so.

  • Is there water available?

Yes I keep bottled water in the Counselling Room. I also have a Tassimo Coffee Machine with a small range of drinks. If you have particular needs then feel free to bring along your own drink.

  • Are there tissues available?

    Yes 😉

  • What are the seating arrangements?

I have two tub chairs. I also keep a spare padded office/reception chair around in case of difficulties.

  • How much will my session be?

I make every effort to keep my session prices accessible. View them here

  • When do I pay, do I need cash with me?

Payment is by cash, cheque, VISA/MasterCard, Barclays PingIt app or Paym (more details). Many clients pay at the start of the session but its up to you.

  • How long will my appointment be?

    Appointments are one hour.

  • Is my session 100% confidential?

I do have a written Counselling Agreement, which covers confidentiality, and we will work through this together in your appointment.

  • What type of Counselling Is it?

    I am a Person-Centred Counsellor – I have explained this in a blog post.

  • Any other questions?

If there’s something that I’ve not covered in this list, please get in touch!
